late night journaling...

3:00 pm

Started reading The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin, I am happy now, but I want to be happier….we will see.

10:00 PM

Another thing I think I want to start doing is listing special & beautiful things my children do throughout the day. I want to be able to look back & remember the times I stayed home with them. It is now almost 10pm at night & I was trying to think of something cute & adorable that they said today, but I have no words or thoughts, LOL, I’m tired!
March 10th 2010

I used to keep a diary of my thoughts when I was younger, but I haven’t written in one for a very long time. I was sitting in the drive through for McDonalds & I was thinking about some stuff, I thought, I’d be really good to write this down so maybe I could work through it later. So here I am, my first journal entry.

My thoughts from the drive through were, I can’t focus on more than one thing at a time. I can be a mom & a wife at the same time, however, it seems I cannot focus on eating a healthy diet & grow spiritually at the same time. Every challenge I find in my life I can overcome, however, something else falls backseat or even out of the van while I am working on that one challenge. Why can’t I excel in all challenges in my life? I wrote above that I can be a mom & a wife, but really, when I feel I am a very good mom I slack off in the wife side.  I can't seem to dedicate & improve more than one area of my life at a time.

I am loving life right now. I am a SAHM with two wonderful daughters. Jaylin is so stubborn though. I get so frustrated at times because I cannot get her to do something if she truly does not want to do it. I was out of my thyroid med for about a month & I hated asking her to do anything, however, now that I am back to being centered I feel like I am in control of the situation. She may think she is in control, but I pick my battles  Today Jaylin went to school in mud boots, jogging pants, & an adidas jacket/shirt. The outfit that I picked out is just adorable, but then she adds the mud boots, urgh, oh well, not worth the fight! I got her to keep on her jacket, but I bet as soon as she gets to school it will come off.

Aubrey is 3 now & starting to act a little like her sister, however, I find it much easier to deal with her. She should be taking a nap right now, but I can hear her playing around. She started cheer yesterday & she was such a cutie! Jumping around all crazy, she was meant to run around & be center of attention. Full of life that girl is.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately, mainly because our old Pastor (one I really respected & liked) resigned from our old church due to his marital infidelity. I am in such shock & I can’t stop thinking about their family. Jody (his wife) must feel like life is over, her pattern of life must be so crazy & unfocused. I don’t know what I would do or think if something like that happened to me. I’d hope that I could act as together as she seems to. I would hope that I could be strong enough in my faith to look to God for guidance. I know even now that there are times that temptation for sin gets so strong that I am so spiritually weak that I don’t know if I would/could pray to God for help. I constantly pray to God to make me stronger to resist sin.

So as you can tell my schedule was a little off, but it still accomplished some of what I wanted done for my house to look & feel (tidy).  Tomorrow I have more work to do & I have some BeautiControl work that I want to accomplish as well as another meeting with my director.

Yea!  So far I love being a SAHM!

My first post as a SAHM!

I'm excited that this is my first post as a SAHM.  I am excited and a little scared.  I quit my full-time job on Friday, Dec 11th, 2009.  This weekend I have a ton of emotions happening.  I am excited, anxious, nervous, doubts, etc going through my head...yes, I said doubts.  Going from always working to not having a full-time 8-5 job makes me a little doubtful that I may like this new lifestyle, yet it is the lifestyle I have chosen and am very excited to start.

I am periodically organized and before I left my full-time job I wanted a schedule of what my life will be like as a SAHM.  I know from having weeks off for vacation that I need a schedule to be happy and be the best mom I can be.  I looked at many sites for schedules and found a few that I could work into my life.  I've listed my new schedule below.  This will be a rough est, but I think it will keep me organized enough.

Another item I researched was a cleaning schedule.  I hate when the house is a mess, but when I worked full-time and did my Spa's at night I didn't have enough time to clean the way I wanted to.  I've also created a cleaning schedule that will work for me.  I actually created it in Excel with check boxes next to them (because I hate to see an unchecked box!!)  e-mail me at lakegarcia@msn.com if you want a copy of the excel document.

More for ScrapPink

It is amazing, I did so many layouts yesterday that I had to have more than one post!! How exciting! Below are pages of my daughters first day of Preschool! I thought I was more excited than she was until the first day. She couldn't eat breakfast that morning because she was so excited!

This page is Creative Memories PP & a bunch of different American Crafts Thickers. It was different doing these pages because I normally don't use the primary colors like this on my pages. They all turned out great though.
This one is CM PP as well. Pictures by the Happy Time Preschool sign!
This may be my favorite page. When you look in the magazine & see these kinds of pages I just go ahh I wish I could do that. Well its easier than you think. I just put everything on the page & then I kept saying to myself this needs something else....sooo I started doodling! I love this page!!
The PP on this is CM as well along with a lot of Stampin Up rub ons. I used the CM tag maker to cover up a mistake I had at the top! I think it turned out well though!

ScrapPink

Last night I scrapped for breast cancer. What a wonderful way to raise money for a cause. I really got a lot accomplished & I am very proud! I arrived around 12pm and stayed until 10:15pm. So it was a nice time to get away & spend a rainy Saturday. Below are the pages I did. I did not write down the supplies so I will just point out the Creative Memories product.

This page was actually done last weekend, but I forgot to post it. I love this photo of my girls it makes me laugh every time I see Aubrey's face & it makes me see how mature Jaylin is coming with her girly face @ the camera.
I used Stampin Up PP & K & Company letters purchased at Wal-Mart. I also used the Martha Stewert punch to make the decorative design under the photo of my husband. The decorative edges are really coming back!
This is my layout of SeaWorld. We had so much fun there, plus really good photos! I used the label maker for the first time! Can you believe it...I am going out today to purchase one for myself!
This is a page of my group of friends from High School minus one. We called our "group" The Posse. We were such dorks :) This page looks really odd without journaling so I will be adding that soon!
I did this page last weekend as well, but forgot to post. This was at the Shamu show, which was by far my favorite part of SeaWorld. This was the only show we went to, but if you ever go, go for two days one to see all the shows & the next to see everything else. I wish we would have got to see more of the shows.
